At some time, every kid becomes a bystander—someone who witnesses bullying but doesn’t get involved. They can be an upstander instead—the person who knows what’s happening is wrong and does something to make things right.  It takes courage to speak up on someone’s behalf.  

On November 14st 2026, the Davis Phoenix Coalition will be hosting an Upstander Carnival for elementary age children from 10:00am - 2:00pm at Davis Central Park 401 C Street in Davis. This Carnival will consist of familiar carnival games with the added element of learning to be an Upstander. Our aim is to give children resources for dealing with this common and impactful situation.
