UpStander Carnival

At some time, every kid becomes a Bystander—someone who witnesses bullying but doesn’t get involved out of fear or lack of knowing what to do.
They can be an Upstander instead—the person who knows what’s happening is wrong and does something to make things right. It takes courage to speak up on someone’s behalf.
The mission of the Davis Phoenix Coalition is to build inclusive communities. As part of that mission one of our goals is to address bullying which if unchecked, can lead to lifelong difficulties.
On October 5th 2019, the Davis Phoenix Coalition will be hosting an Upstander Carnival for pre K-elementary aged children. This Carnival will consist of familiar carnival games with the added element of learning to be an Upstander. Our aim is to give children resources for dealing with this common and potentially devastating situation.
